MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Armored personnel carriers are moving
towards the site of the riot in the Uzbek city of Andizhan, an Uzbek
Interior Ministry representative in Andizhan told Interfax.
"Three armored personnel carriers and three ZIL trucks with
servicemen have arrived in the riot district. Servicemen are gathering
there, but the storming has not started yet," he said.
A shootout that lasted fifteen minutes took place in the center of
Andizhan, but now it has ceased, he said.
